The Irish Medical Council was established under the Medical Practitioners Act in 1978 to maintain a General Register of Medical Practitioners to satisfy itself as to the standards of undergraduate and postgraduate Medical education and training and to look into alleged cases of professional misconduct or unfitness to practice medicine by reason of physical and mental disability. Any doctor that wishes to work through Locumlink must have full Irish Medical Registration.
